Bart van Ark, chief economist at The Conference Board, told CNBC, "The global economy is going to slow down quite a bit in 2012, we are growing in around 4% this year more in the area of 3.2% next year, with the very rapid adjustments we are making in Europe at the moment it could even actually be 3% or even a little bit below."
