Christian Gattiker, chief strategist at Bank Julius Baer, told CNBC, "overall in the equity market it didn't really look like panic buying but in terms of the sector dispersion and the differences between sectors we just saw a lot of these defensive good quality names being bought like there is no tomorrow, investors were just going in anything that didn't look like financial risk."
