If we are going to feed 9 billion people by 2050, we want to do it using existing farmland, because using more land for farming would be a tragedy, Mike Mack, CEO of Syngenta, told CNBC Thursday. Although the crops are safe, genetically modified food won’t be adopted in the euro zone because of opposition, Mack said.
